Well, I am disappointed that only one of the five Bourke's parakeet eggs has hatched. One chick died trying to hatch, and the remaining three eggs are past their due date, and haven't even pipped. (Pip means that the chick has made a hole in the shell with its beak.)
But Collin and Astrid have five chicks in their nest now. They are well fed and everything in that nest is coming along nicely. Three of the chicks have plum colored eyes, so those will be cinnamons. Two have black eyes, and as of yet, there are still no red eyed chicks. There are three eggs left to go, and if none are inos, then I will have to accept that Collin is not split for ino.
At least the singleton Bourke's chick is very well fed. It gives the mother more practice at raising chicks.
