Budgiedin is a small hobby breeder of budgerigars, commonly known as "parakeets". We specialize in the American, or "pet type" style of budgie, although we have been known to mix in a few of the English type here and there. More recently we have been working with some of the rare budgie mutations, namely Texas Clearbody and Lacewing. We finished our Texas Clearbody breeding and only have one retired hen left. We will be wrapping up our Lacewing breedings in 2019.
We are located in central Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. One of our goals is to provide happy, healthy pets for people who would like an alternative to purchasing from a pet store. We enjoy combining all the different colors and genetics in order to produce some unique and beautiful birds.
For several years, we also branched out into some finch species, and into Bourke's Parakeets, Cockatiels and Scarlet Chested Parakeets. We have stopped breeding those other kinds of birds, except for the Scarlet Chesteds, who will be allowed to raise one or two clutches before we retire them as well.
